We had a lovely excuse for a day out yesterday - taking a new delivery over to Inchmore Gallery. I cannot recommend this gallery enough, it is brimming with talented works from a variety of artists.
The current exhibition is A Fine Art Friendship by Helen L Robertson and Nicole Stevenson and is
inspired by the West Coast of Scotland and the Outer Isles.
There will then be two exhibitions running concurrently:
Discarded Thoughts by Mark Lomax
Craft Month at Inchmore Gallery - a brand new initiative designed to raise
awareness of the enormous amount of creative talent we have in this
country.
“Craft Month at Inchmore Gallery” Exhibition
opens on Saturday 5th May and runs until Saturday 9th June. This event
is free of charge and is open to all.
Jane Owen Inglis, gallery owner, says: “At Inchmore
Gallery we are supporting Craft and Design Month as we recognise the
importance of being able to choose handmade or individually designed and
created products. They are a desirable alternative to cheap imports
where everything looks and feels the same. However, whilst imported
goods can be found at almost every supermarket and department store, it
is hard to find individual designer makers. For many, a high street
store or exhibition is just not viable.
Inchmore Gallery is pleased to be able to provide an opportunity for designer makers to shine in the spotlight that is Craft and Design Month 2012”.
