Wallets?....

I've had lots of requests for men's wallets made in Harris Tweed. I always planned to do them but just never found the time to experiment and come up with a good design that I was happy with. I didn't want them to be too chunky but they needeed to to have enough pockets and space in them to make them useful.

(I love that quote and it's my rule when designing.....it has to be completely useful...and hopefully beautiful!)

Anyway....my husband is currently road testing this design and if it get's the thumb's up I'll be making some up in Harris Tweed and you will be able to find them Online or follow me on Facebook :)

Bluergh

I have totally lost my voice - much to the amusement and delight of my family!  We've all had various coughs and colds over the past couple of weeks, I'm sure the kids just bounce germs around on their return to school!
Anyway...... more exciting news....... I''ve just purchased a gorgeous vintage Singer Sewing machine (this isn't my one - mines still in it's box!) A sign of how ill I must be....I've not managed to take it out of it's box yet - will photograph it once I get going.

I love my brother sewing machine, it's a great workhorse and great for free embroidery but it struggles with so many layers of tweed.  That's hopefully where this baby will come into it's own - will let you know. It's so pretty!! x

Another week.....

Keyka Lou weekly goals
image from http://keyka.typepad.com
same goals?....

So I didn't completely achieve last weeks goals, it started well and I was super happy with my clutch bags but then I did get distracted making tweed corsages and then even more distracted cutting and pasting lots and lots of wallpaper but it was worth it!

This weeks goals are to finish the 5 door stops I have started cutting pieces for.

The weather is so gorgeous at the moment that we are trying to make the most of it and spend lots of time out doors, I'm sure it will all change back to the usual drizzle in time for the school holidays next week!

smug....

Yip, I'm feeling just a touch smug that I have achieved this weeks goals!
Clutch bag pattern - check!

Cot bumper - check!
(sorry for the rubbish pic!)

Maybe setting goals down in writing is the way forward.... we'll see how long this lasts ;o)
x
ps Chloe hasn't been so successful but there's still a couple of days left...
